Title, Jitsi Meet is now available at meet.nadeko.net for anyone to do meetings.

There isn’t too many Jitsi instances hosted out there so I decided to host one for everyone, if you want to make some meetings with some friends without having to use the cancerous Microsoft Teams or Google Meet, then feel free to use this instance of Jitsi

Now my Invidious instance is available in the Yggdrasil Network, you can read more about what Yggdrasil is in that link ;3.

I mainly did this because the Roscomnadzor, the Internet censorship program of Russia that blocked my instance (or some videos) and spams my email, therefore, Russians that wanted to access Youtube without problems used my instance, which is now blocked.

Hi again, Recently I have been using my own Monero node privately for 3 weeks and worked fine, so I decided to make it public for everyone to use.

I personally recommend it for South America people so they can get fast blockchain downloads, but anyone can use it. It’s hosted in my own PC and not a rented server, so I guess that adds some level of trust because I own the hardware ;3.

Phantom, Rimgo, and 4get will fallback to the relayed server to keep those services up while I do the maintenance.

Deprecating Breezewiki

Hi, nadeko.net is not longer going to host Breezewiki to the public, this is because there is a new alternative called Phantom, which is basically Breezewiki but made on Golang.

Why are you deprecating it if it works the same way as Breezewiki?, you may ask, the problem is that Breezewiki uses a huge amount of memory at start and it can keep increasing to up to 1GB!, that’s insane for me and it makes literally everyone with a low end server unable to host Breezewiki, so Kuuro basically grabbed all the logic from Breezewiki and ported it to Golang, and that is how Phantom born.

nadeko.net is a collection of privacy related services (and other non-privacy related services) hosted on South America, well, most of them. It started with the motivation of hosting privacy related services for South America people since there is a lot of people that host privacy related services on the United States and Europe, but since they are far from South America, they can be slow.

But currently, the main motivation that I have is because of the current Enshittification of online services, a lot of services have started to became worse and worse, places that used to be good, now abuse their users by applying ads, specially ads, platforms that censoring comments, content and people due to being in hands of investors or adding new features but that are only available to paid users, which is not bad, because you need to pay for everything, but as always, when a service is free, you are the product.

Recently I have been interested on how Yggdrasil works, I really like the idea of something like a layer of the internet on top the internet. It’s a really cool project that uses IPV6 as IP addresses, it’s encrypted and it let’s you open ports even if you are on CGNAT or in a restricted network that does not allow you to open ports. It’s not an anonymous network, but it works fine. So I got my hands on and I wanted to add my grain of salt into the project hosting some Yggdrasil nodes, specially one on Brazil for South American traffic; There is also one on the US which is sitting on the Marisa New York VPS.

I started to host two Yggdrasil nodes today, one in Marisa (New York, USA) and Suika (Sao Paulo, Brazil)

The Brazil server was specifically rented just to host a Yggdrasil node on South America, since there is already public nodes on Europe, Asia and North America, but there was none on South America so that was disappointing for me.

Take the Brazil node as a little experiment to see how well it preforms and too see how used it is on IP addresses from South America.

Hi, if you noticed this cute illustration when trying to watch a video:

It’s because I had to add CAPTCHA to Invidious. Oh noooo! A CAPTCHA? Yes, a CAPTCHA.

Why you may ask. The reason is simple: BOTS

Since my Invidious instance is the most used one, it has been abused by all type of bots a lot since it’s really easy for bots to scrape it. Even with the API disabled, anyone can access to the a video without any sort of restrictions and extract information from there.

UPDATE: Fixed! 🎉 . It’s a really fucking messed up fix but it works for Invidious.

If you use Invidious regularly, you probably noticed that recently (like 3 hours before doing this post), all the fucking videos (or most of them, maybe ~80%) now just don’t play for whatever reason! This is not an error of my side, but it seems to be just another measure by FUCKING YOUTUBE SHIT DEVS (sorry I’m really mad) to block third party clients. I still don’t know the root cause of this but I know for sure that happened at 18:00UTC-0 as it can be seen in this awesome graph:

How to host subdomains on Tor hidden services with NGINX

have you ever wondered on how to host more than one service on the same onion address? Subdomains (or 3rd level FQDN) are also supported on Tor and it’s really simple to set it up.

Take a look at this NGINX server block:

As you can see, there is a example.nadekobxalvyqrhvp3m2atfgdmzp5vcwdmu3wo4htecwjkodancfmgid.onion on the server_name directive. example will be the subdomain of your hidden service, you will also need to listen to another port without ssl, listen 4080 does that.

Basic information about the email server

The email server is hosted on the US, Email webclient is SnappyEmail. IMAP is using TLS (port 993), POP3 is using TLS (port 995) and SMTP is using TLS (port 465) for secure connections between you and the email server.

Email by default is unencrypted so I will be able to read all your emails if you don’t encrypt them which is pretty shit, so this service is just like a “trust me bro!” thing (unless you use PGP).
